My first sewn piece!!!!

Oh looky ya'll what I found on Kate's facebook.....

"Kate became a fan of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Kona Bay Fabrics, Seattle Bay Fabrics and Asian Fabric Magazine"

I think we caught another one ya'll. (starts reeling her in!!)

That last one would be great in my area!

The Piñata Quilt & The Tortilla Quilt, written and illustrated by
Jane Tenorio-Coscarelli

And yeah, I became a fan of that fabric store because they sent me a message but forgot to put in they don't sell to the public!

Great job! My OCD tendencies give me grief when sewing but then I get to the point where I say "Oh forget it! No one is going to notice it but ME!" and then I feel better.

You will get the hang of it the more you do then it isnt so bad.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear from someone else trying to sew who is OCD. It just drives me nuts that it's not perfectly straight, the corners are a mile apart,, even though it's a first try my weird brain says it's not good enough.

Yep, you arent the only one! I had a Christmas wall hanging I made using the Log cabin pattern and I had so many problems from the beginning with it! I finally got to quilting it and about 1/2 way I realized the bobbin thread was messed up but at that point I was so frustrated I just said forget it! There was no way I was going to "unsew" on that quilt any more! Its not really noticeable and who really turns a wall hanging over to see the back? At least, that's what I keep telling myself!

I can totally relate! I fought with my machine like that a lot at first until I really got the hang of it! Once you get it all figured it out it will go much more smoothly.

I understand the OCD side of things, too. I finally learned to give up and realize that the people I make quilts for are going to appreciate them for the time and love that went into them - they won't be looking for the flaws!

Anyway, I think it is awesome that you're learning how to do this and that you're going to teach the kids. You have some very lucky students to have you as a teacher!
