They are large fowl orpingtons. The roosters are over 12lbs. Red is bigger than Mosby.

Very weird to watch his legs turn colors. Neat...yet weird.

He is beautiful!

His legs have not changed colors. He has always had dark slate legs like his blue orp sire.

OK thats what I assumed because he is your bird and I am sure you know what he looked like just wondering

why does a orph of any color have slate legs? I though all orphs even blues were required to have white legs?

Nope, slate for the blues, Henry.

His sire was a blue = slate legs. His dam was a buff = white legs. He got the slate legs.

Oh I am still after all this time not good at orphington or chicken genetics. Give me some gouldian finch blue yellow recesive mating and I might still be able to get the percentages out but untill I flush all of that information I will not be able to get all of this
