My flock.......

The chicks grew fast, in a few weeks they were in a very awkward faze. Didn't get any pictures saved, they were on a camera that broke. So we skip, a long time. Throughout which I had concerns about having roosters, even though they were ordered as hens, I had asked on BYC and could clearly see.... THEY HAD TINY WHITE COMBS.

To say the least my obsession had begun. I spent hours trying to find the perfect coop for the country. Not only do we have high winds, many predators, and an obnoxious neighbors dog that won't stay out of our yard. But, Michigan winters are unpredictable.
We ended up getting the large snap lock chicken coop, and my dad built the run. The chickens spend their days free ranging around the yard.

Monday was hatch day for our new additions, we drove down to Meyer Hatchery to pick them up! When we arrived home we put them in the brooder, and got around to trying to identify who was who.
We ordered 1 white leg horn (Got turned into a blue cukoo maran when hatching wasn't going as expected for them)
1 Golden laced polish
1 golden laced wyandotte
1 silver laced wyandotte
1 blue splash maran

1 speckled sussex
1 Easter Egger
3 random hens

I have been taking lots of pictures because THEY ARE JUST ADORABLE!! I have not been able to identify any of the randoms but I have a few guesses.

Layla, one of the randoms, I am thinking a black australorp, not totally sure tho

Zaida- Golden Laced Polish

Endora- Golden Laced Wyandotte

Miss Dilly- Random, maybe blue orpington, or blue copper maran

This one hasnt gotten a name yet- Yet another random, thinkin the same kind as the last one

Oona(little lamb)- Blue Splash Maran- I love her calm, trusting manners

Victoria- Blue Cukoo Maran

Latte- Easter Egger - She reminds me of a chipmunk

Tabitha- Silver Laced Wyandotte

Penelope (Henny Penny)- Speckled Sussex
This is the whole bunch, been 2 days and only one case of pasty butt!
Since that incident, there have been no other problems!

They're adorable! Glad you had a successful hatch! Super cute, I'm really fond of Endora she's beautiful!

I just got mine yesterday! Photo dump here! Excuse the quality these guys are hard to photograph

These are my two Black Australorps! They are the biggest out of the 10
The bottom picture is my biggest chick out of all of them I keep calling her "Big Mama" so that might be her name

These two are the smallest out of the 10 my two little Lavender Orpingtons. Their names are Edina and Patsy. The one closest to my hand is Patsy and the other Edina.

These two Goofies are my speckled sussex Snow Bird and haven't decided the name for the other yet

And these four are my Double laced Barnevelders. The double banded one is my rooster his name is Paka. Haven't come up with names yet for these guys either
