My pullets are 4 months old and my rooster is 7 months! I was worried about the age gap when I got him but he is so so polite! He hasn’t tried to mount a single one of them and he’s just so kind to them. The girls love him and follow him all over!

It sounds like you have a lovely flock of chickens and a rooster. I hope they start laying soon as well! Raising chickens can be a rewarding experience, and there's nothing quite like the taste of freshly laid eggs. Best of luck with your feathered friends!

Since this post, the rooster found a new home which he loves and is a better fit for him! My two RIR started laying early February, then my Australorps started the last two weeks, and yesterday I caught my barred rock in the nest! Getting five eggs a day now. I also picked up four chicks two weeks ago, two speckled sussex and two buff orpingtons and I love them!
