My foster DD's been granted a wish from Make-a-Wish...I'm clueless...

I forgot you can now stay in the Cinderella Castle right at DisneyWorld, FL. I bet she would love that. You give that brave little girl a big hug from me. Tell her we are all rooting for her recovery.

Another nice thing about Disney in FL is that most of the places you stay have pools or artificial beaches. If she wants to use that new swimsuit, that might be the perfect thing. She could do the princess thing and see the parks in the morning, then rest poolside in the afternoons. Disney would pretty much guarantee she got a forever memory, and they have so many different things you might actually learn more about her likes and dislikes as she leads you around!

A friend of our family fosters children, and I know what hard work it is even if the kids are healthy. In many ways you've already made this little girl's wish come true. This next one is gravy!

At sea world or Busch Gardens she can swim with the dolphins!! What a way to try out that new suit!!! Jenn

God bless your family! I will be praying for her and your family. I have 3 daughters ages 6,5 and 3 and they all want to go to DisneyWorld. I don't think you could go wrong with that choice. Best of Luck!!

disneyworld for sure i didn't get to go until i was 18 and i loveddd it. sea world is great but no to busch gardens for a 6 yrsold I lived in tampa went nearly every weekend there's not anything she could ride that disney doesn't have better and they have the same number of animals as a zoo does. - plus there's free beer for adults get the pic. hey how bout a disney cruise land and sea trip.

First off....I am sorry to hear about this little girl.....hopefully she will be okay. I have a friend who's son was granted a Make a Wish. He was in maybe 3rd grade at the time and he wished for his own bedroom. He had been sharing a room with his brother and wanted his own. They added on a bedroom and bathroom to his house.

I am also glad to add that he is now 25 years old and healthy.

Wish big.....that is the whole idea.

They request a lot of paperwork - id for each member of the family, proof of guardianship, etc - I sent it all in last week. Now I wait for them to set up an interview to see Faith and they said it will take them 4-6 months to grant her wish.

The story of your friend's son is so touching! How so many people came together to make his last days happy ones. I'm in awe...

Thank you so much for sharing your story!

If she loves animals...a GREAT place to go is Theater of the Sea in Islamorada, FL (in the Keys). You can swim with the dolphins, sea lions & stingrays there. And they also have animal interactions out of the water for anyone who doesn't like to swim.
It's one of my very favorite places on earth! And it's really laid back..no lines or crowds at all....

It looks like there is a little while to plan things than. Maybe some of her friends could help her come up with a wonderful wish. I know lots of people have suggested DisneyWorld/Land.

If somethings like that doesn't interest her, what about a "Dude Ranch" (or whatever they are called now). Something like that might interest her. All the horses and trail rides and what not. Lots of hands on.

I tried to ask my kids what they would wish for....There ages are 12 and 6....
Of course one of the answers was "to be cancer free for the rest of there life".
Another answer was a baby puppy...

Our 12 year old actually suggested going on a cruise somewhere...She mentioned both warm places like the Carribean and to go on the beaches, and cooler places like Alaska to see the whales and other animals.
Again they are 12 and 6.....
Is it possible to go out of country. Maybe your daughter could find something interesting in another country she would like to know more about...
*The blarney stone is the first thing that comes to my mind...Maybe Ireland would be of interest to her...And maybe she could catch a lepricon..(ok maybe this is only something I would want to do)
* shopping in France
*Italy has lots of interesting things
*I know someone else mentioned Austrilla That would be so neat...The Zoo would be one of the things I would want to go to if I was a kid (again)

I guess the possiblities are endless...
Maybe she could keep a journel and write down anythign that is of interest to her. Maybe she sees soemthing on t.v. or hears it on the radio...After a certain time go through the journel with her and come up with the BEST WISH EVER.....
The sky is the limit....hey there's something else she might be interested in...space shuttles (the stars, planets, solar system...)

Best of health for your daughter and family...
Shawna
