They have started doing zoomies and jumping/playing aroundA coccidiostat is amprolium, what treats coccidia. Here in the US the brand name is Corid. The Cocciprol is amprolium and should get the job done.
Mites and lice are two distinctly different things. Lice live on a chicken and thrive on dry skin flakes and feather dander. They have six legs. Mites have eight legs and thrive on sucking blood from the chicken. They typically live during the day in cracks in the coop. They come out mainly at night to feed on the chickens.
You can tell which you have by examining one of the bugs under a magnifying lens. Mites are more of a danger to the chicks as they will quickly become anemic from mites sucking their blood.
It’s very bloody, pretty much haemorrhage level, I have seen intestinal lining poops but that isn’t itIs it bloody or is it red. If you see red streaks in their poo it could be shed lining. It happens during growth spurts.
I already started them on it yesterday as you advisedNo, they definitely aren't showing signs of coccidiosis. I would hold off on starting the amprolium. Keep an eye on them, though, for any sign of lethargy and diarrhea. A chick coming down with coccidiosis will stand hunched and not moving, and if you see diarrhea, then start them all on the amprolium.
Like thisThey are looking much better for the most part
But one of them keeps opening and closing her mouth, it’s currently 20 degrees Celsius out so they aren’t hot
What’s wrong? I only noticed this today
