I have never seen a full bred polish.. do you think she is a cross??? I thought she might be as she does have some beautiful green legs.. but she is almost as big as my full grown welsummers... she hasn't laid any eggs yet...

Are you sure that is not a little wig up on her head?

I usually don't lke Plish but she is CUTE. I think this crossbred might just be the next chicken star.

I haven't been able to pull off the wig... she won't let me near her now that she is hydrated and eating well....I am sure when she gets in with the rest of the girls someone will try to pull it off her head. She has the same coloring as my wellies but I can see them eyeing up the top knot.. they are saying.. there is something just not right with that one over thereeee

hi Earnhardlvr...
How old in your cutie?? She looks to be a Welsummer to me.....I have some that are about 6 weeks and some that are just under a year old... mine do have bigger combs on there heads. Mine are from a hatchery.. I just love them such sweet personalities

Enjoy her

You know, your bird intrigued me so much that I've done some extra digging (yes I have no life

). I've actually run across a hatchery that is working on developing a red Polish. So by the nature of her color, she HAS to be a cross (you have to cross to get colors you didn't have before), but she's a cross by way of trying to get a standardized breed.

The hatchery developing this breed is called Ideal. It'll be interesting to see her full grown!

She was born April 4th so around 13-14 weeks old. I got her from my pet chicken. She is very anti-social tho.

We have handled them all since they were day olds, but she is one that has still not warmed up to us. I'm not giving up tho! LOL Thanks for helping me identify her tho.
