My friend keeps her chicken inside and it poos everywhere!

This is what the CDC website says.
Notice last last word.

Although keeping backyard poultry can be fun and educational, owners should be aware that poultry can sometimes carry harmful germs that make people sick.

These germs can cause a variety of illnesses in people, ranging from minor skin infections to serious illnesses that could cause death.

I feel the same way about small children. Every surface below waist level is mysteriously sticky.
And as for harmful germs that make people sick -- My coworker's wife is a first grade teacher, and he's Patient Zero for every infectious disease that goes around the office.

I don't see the big deal about a house chicken in someone else's house...

She has a 16 year old, who doesn’t want the chicken inside, and a husband who is immune compromised who doesn’t want the chicken indoors. I’m actually really mad that she’s chosen the chicken over the health of her husband, and everyone else.
Oh no!!! That's awful!

Sounds to me like she may have something else going on with her, and the undiapered chicken in the house is a symptom of deeper problems. The more you share, the more I doubt there's much you can do to help this situation.

Make sure you prioritize protecting your own family. If you can help these friends also, that would be great, but if you try without much success, I'd focus on the areas you can actually make a positive difference. Sorry you guys are dealing with this.

I guess I've got some deep issues.

You're not missing anything.
I agree it's quite disgusting, but nothing says you have to go over there... If you want to visit, you can always invite her over to your house or meet somewhere neutral.
If she doesn't even listen to her husband about getting the chicken out of the house, I don't know why you're concerning yourself over it. 🤷‍♀️
Let a little sunshine chicken in...
