My frozen chicken help..

MG or coryza could kill her, but most of the time the survival rate is good even without treatment. They may be less likely to thrive and lay eggs, and they can get sick again after times of stress. Some people strictly cull sick chickens. A vet would probably offer an antibiotic if they felt it was a bacterial infection such as MG or coryza. Tylosin (Tylan) is one of the common antibiotics they prescribe. If you cannot see a vet, I would order tylosin here:
https://www.jedds.com/shop/tylan-soluble-100-g/
Dosage is 1 tsp (5grams) per gallon of water for 5 days. Only treat sick birds.

Chickens with a respiratory disease need to be kept warm, since they have trouble regulating body temperature. Do you smell a bad odor from her face? Coryza is said to smell bad. If you see a lot of pus inside her eye, it should be removed, and sometimes squeezing is necessary.

Clean her eye twice a day, and you can use saline eye wash and apply some Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment after.
Is this contagious?

Okay so I’m going out to our seed store today I was thinking they might have something and if they to I will get tylan if they don’t I’m gonna go a couple other places to try to find it. Do I just spray the saline in her eye or use a tissue...?
For my duck, it’s a eye drop, I just dropped it on him...he was ok with it

@aart, there is also an older thread where a pharmacist said that topical nesosporin is fine for chickens. I would only use an eye drop or eye ointment in my or my family’s eyes, but in a chicken who lives in a coop and rolls around in dirt, I feel that the topical is fine. It is sterile or it would not be allowed to be used on wounds. If you read the labels, there are no other ingredients or differences in the label.

If people insist on using an eye ointment, just get the Terramycin. Or go to your vet for a $30 tube of Neosporin. Do what you feel is best for your chickens. We are not vets here, just giving opinions on how we treat our own chickens.

As far as the caines or pain medicine controversy, I think chickens may be a bit sensitive to large amounts of benzocaine, pramocaine (pramoxin,) and lidocaine. But some of thise are used routinely with caution by vets during surgery on poultry. @casportpony recently had a good post about that controversy.

Can you bring her into a room in the house or garage?
X2 on this. Sick birds will recover much quicker in a warm room.

Maybe just another myth, spread by people who should know better(the pharmacist).
Wonder if using pain relief type(-caine)AB ointment/cream on birds, because it is toxic to them, is another myth?

Yes, it's a myth, and I think it started on this forum.

I
I will see if I can find that.

Vet Rx is a mixture of herbal oils—oregano, rosemary, balsam pine, and camphor in oil. Although it sells well and many use it, it won’t treat a respiratory disease such as MG or coryza any better than Vicks Vaporub. Were you able to order any Tylan (tylosin?) How is she doing? Is she drinking plenty of water? How is the pus?

No I haven’t ordered Tylan just bc we bought this and didn’t know what would happen... I think she’s doing better! Her eye is opening more. We set up there coop better yesterday and said that on the cold days we aren’t gonna let them free range. Got the heat lamp set up right and everything. She is drinking her water and eating and she just has that runny puss which hasn’t really dyed down just enough to open her eye more... but I have been cleaning it with saline and the triple anti biotic ointment every day .
