My goldfish is unwell- please help!

I forgot to continue my message!
She was a great pet in the winter, though I had to go outside and dig up worms for her, sometimes on frosty nights in my jimjams!!! I didnt mind, i laughed at myself!!anything for her, she stood up to the glass like she is in the photo when she was hungry.

If I was sad and having a cry, which is next to never! she would watch me across the room and If I looked back at her I felt better!
and when I walked in the front door each day she would follow me with her gaze and we would wave at her whilst watching telly.
But then the drought came in the summer and all sorts of chemicals have been added to our water, we had no warning otherwise I would have purchased bottled water.
We had a heatwave which knocked her around.
I needed to clean her tank as the biofilters werent functioning.
She got ill very quickly, I posted on the axy forum but no help was there when I needed it.

She passed away and I cried my little heart out.
I buried her in my favourite Rose large pot plant.
The rose is the same apricot colour as her, and I swear that her rose is the healthiest and most prolific grower out of all the potted roses.
I put her toys and ornaments around the stem.

I really enjoyed having her but with our summer temps it is really too stressful.
If anyone is thinking of getting an Axie, please do some research first. Candata is a great starter site!!!

I chose my name, because we live in the woods and it seems to define so many things in our day to day lives. Varmint Central was my second choice, as that comes with living in the woods, too, but it didn't have quite the same ring to it!

People that have never had aquatic pets don't realize how interactive they can be. I wave at Madge when I notice her staring at me, too!

Our betta is the nosiest. He watches everything and especially likes to watch my husband shave. He also gets very excited when he sees me get out the dark green plant fertilizer box. He's our bathroom pet, in a mini aquarium.

Petal was such a little beauty! That was a very sweet way to bury her and remember her. We made a little clearing in the woods and that is where we bury our pets. It has a memorial plaque, little grave stones and is planted with ferns, forget-me-nots and bleeding hearts. I planted the bleeding hearts the year that my favorite cocker spaniel died.

Well, little Rosie died today, Ive buried her in with Petal.
She was a sweet looking little fish with a red blotch on her lips which looked like lipstick, a real bow shape! I loved looking at her face in the morning.
I have the tank on the bench next to the sink in the kitchen and at night when the fish swim over the little light you can see their reflections on the ceiling and walls. It looks really fantastic at night when all the other lights are turned off.
So if you have a tank without a light, get one, just a cheapie will do, globe about 2 millimeters round, not too big and you will enjoy the projections that i have !!!
Thanks for all your helps with Rosie!

This is the truth as wacky as it sounds. If you buy a bag of frozen peas.....once or twice a week take a small handful and thaw in warm water and chop or mash up and dump into the tank and it is very good for the fish and they LOVE it. If you ever have the bloat problem it saves them even if you think its too late, it can save them. it keeps their digestive system running properly.

I am so sorry your Rosie died, but she had someone to love her . I have a couple that i love also a blood parrot and my GhostKnife fish. pucker and Bella lagostie and they give me hrs of pleasure so i know how. you can love and care for your fish!

Thanks, Hey Lurky is that for saltwater or freshwater fish?
I like the peas idea! I have 5 little goldfish, I used to have tropicals but the heater cord was bumped out by accident.
I have a heater in the goldfish tank too as it is cold here and they love it. only on 22 celsius.

I'm so sorry you lost Rosie. After everything you were doing for her, I really thought she was feeling better and would make it.

Our betta, Mel, just died yesterday. He was at least 4 years old, so I wasn't really expecting him to recover. This must be a bad week for fishies. And their owners.

I am doing my best to spoil Madge and Sandy. It makes me feel a little better. They have been stuffing themselves with more duckweed and a little krill. Maybe your fish could use a party in Rosie's honor? It sounds like some peas might be on the menu!

I've never had to try this myself, but I have heard it to have nearly miraculous effects on sick fish.
I'm sorry you lost Rosie. I have two feeder fish that I bought years ago. They were bedraggled little things when I got them , now they are a good 7-8 inches long, and beautiful!

sorry for your loss, i had a goldfish name ernie for years, ernies tank was by the t.v and he would "hang out" on that side of the tank and watch it.

the last known serviver of the greensbourg ef5 tornado in kansas was a gold fish found in rubble still in his bowl and water in tacted.....amazing
