Supplementing minerals like calcium, magnesium, etc. can inhibit absorption of fluoroquinolone antibiotics like Baytril (enrofloxacin). I know tetracyclines react the same. I used to add 1/2 cup cranberry juice or 1 tsp of ascorbic acid powder per gallon of water whenever using tetracycline antibiotics in the past. I read a report back in the 80's in a medical book about how vitamin C helps with the absorption of tetracyclines. The reverse happens in the case of fluoroquinolones like Baytril. How long did your vet tell you to give the Baytril?

10 days I read the same thing and I think I recall the article online said copyright 1981 thus the electrolytes that have vitamin c for better absorbing mind you I'm 31 made it to 6th grade been working ever since thank god I love to read and process I should have read more in depth so no electrolytes tomorrow I'm giving him 21 hours to flush the sulfa it's going to be fun syringe feeding the baytril I've been researching that also those guys in France make it look easy but I don't condone what they do in any way shape or form

Lost my dad a year ago today he was 54 to heart failure thus all the emotion my dog mr.bones has an enlarged heart 7 yr old doberman vet said there is absolutely nothing I can do for him all this plus mr.jackson is literally killing me so sorry guys for the life story and thank you all I'm so happy to be a part of the byc family so again thank you so much words cannot describe how much I appreciate this

With Baytril, if you have it in tablet form, you could always give it that way. I have. I had an Australian Cattle Dog who made it to 17 being prescribed Benalapril for an enlarged heart, something common with old dogs. It was cancer that eventually ended his life, but he was a healthy, lively old guy with little arthritis until the very end. He was a great dog and got him from a shelter. Dobermans are a breed I've always liked too, in addition to Malinois, Border Collies, and German Shepherds. Details aren't a life story, buddy. You're doing a good job with the Toulouse. Welcome to the forum.
