MY GREEN BOYS (PICS)

I need to measure it and i will gimme just a sec. The new green could care less about the ducks. He goes all over. Now as far as the nice grass and plants .Lets just say there is less and less of it each day because of the quackers.
Yeah I kinda figured the grass would eventually go away. I remember when we first built the large pen and how grassy it was for the first 1 or 2 years. Soon there were areas that wouldn't grow grass and those areas spread and now grass only covers some areas of the pen. I used to have a patch of monkey grass in the pen too, but that was eaten to the ground.

Edit:
Ooh okay that is similar to my peafowl pen that is 40x50ft. I like pens around those dimensions a lot I think. Sweet!

Thats a big one. I cant wait to see it. The main thing I dont like about my peacocks is when they freak out from something. They can hit that netting so hard I tell ya. Especially worried when that one was first let loose in my big pen. I thought he would break his neck or break thru even . Powerful birds indeed. The other one is kept in a kennel around 8 x 14. I may probably put the girl in the smaller pen with the one I had since he is more mellow. I can always add on to that one and make it bigger with two more panels for the pair. I dont know how it would work out for the ducks if peacock loving began in the big pen.

They both kinda discovered each other today. Their pens are about 100 ft apart or more. It was so funny hearing them "talk" to one another. Cool sounds. Nothing like IB's. But real neat nonetheless. Im shocked that the new one is already accepting me so quickly. Or at this point should say tolerating me,LOL! Either way I like it. Ive really been enjoying them and of course my new ducks. Now its raining here. The other boy I have had will eat a banana treat two feet from me but wont take it from my hand just yet. I got him used to me by setting in a chair outside his pen daily.

Here, green thai 'domesticated ' peacocks often found at the entrance to National Park.... To the delight of tourists!

Free ranch and large group .... an incredible beauty !

Oh they are lovely!

Are those 'domestic ones' in the videos pure breed?

The OP - you have lovely birds! Seems whenever someone puts a pic of a green peacock everyone wants to tell them its not a pure breed! What difference does it make if it just a pet and you are not going into business selling 'pure greens'. He is very beautiful whatever he is.

I agree with you, as long as the birds are kept as pets nothing happens. But why it is so difficult to find any pure greens? Too many people sold high % spaldings as pure greens and finally everything is mixed together!

If you keep them as your own pets it is not important if they are pure or not, but what happens with the offsprings? They go out as pure greens or what? This is the only concern from my side.

Thanks for sharing Dani. It delighted me as well. Awesome videos! Thanks Jax. Im betting all those beautiful birds are indeed pure.BTW My two boys happen to be pure ones . Im blessed. If I happen to get a pure girl or two to go with em and if they do what they are supposed to. I will try and bless some friends of mine. Starting with Minxfox.

Are the boys still "chatting"? Are they interested in each other?
And, by the way, are they displaying???

It does look like he's tolerating you pretty well, he doesn't look too nervous.
Perhaps he had some close contact with people in his previous home?

Looking forward to more pictures!
