My Guineas are entertaining! Video

Cute video, thanks for sharing.

Have you seen them run back-wards yet?

I will be looking forward to watching them run backwards! It will probably happen after I start letting them free-range. We have sooo many hawks here, even an Eagle. So they have to wait till they are full grown. Thanks.

you should get a little hoop fro them to jump through next time, what breed of chickens do you have mixed in with your guineas?

A hoop would be great. I will have to think about that. The chickens are a bantam assortment from one of the hatcheries. I mostly have Cochins and Old English left. I already sold the Silkies, D'Unccles, Cubalayas, and acouple others. I have LF Ameraucana eggs in the incubator to hopefully add to the mix soon. Maybe more Silkies after that. My long range plan is Ameraucanas for eating eggs, Silkies to raise and sell and Guineas for fun. Heard Guineas might not be nice to new chicks. We will see.

Are you thinking of getting older Guineas or keets? Years ago we went to an auction and bought 5 chickens and rooster and 3 Guineas. They were all grown. We let them out to free range and the bunch always stayed together even though they were not raised together. This time I bought day old chicks and 5 weeks later got the day old keets. I took the meekest little 5 week old pullet and put her in with the keets and she lived with them for about 3 or 4 weeks till I started to introduce the keets to the rest of the flock.I had to re-introduce the keets 5 or 6 times before they could stay with the chickens without getting picked on, but that was in the chicken tractor which was small. Now that the coop is done, they have alot more room and no problems. Plus the Guineas are bigger then some of the chickens and as big as the roosters. Speaking of roosters, lol, my roosters really really love the Guineas! They pay way more attention to the Guineas then the chickens. The roosters almost ignore the chicken hens in favor of the Guineas. It is alittle odd!

Here is a picture of the little 5 week old pullet sitting with her little day old keets. They loved her.
