I posted these photos so the seller would get the opportunity to look at them. Without going into details, this was the only way that could happen.

I requested and received a refund of half of the total costs.

I will be setting the surviving eggs tomorrow. I don't know how they will do as they were covered in scrambled eggs.

That's ridiculous. I could see if they eggs were individually wrapped and THEN placed in the flat, but what is there to keep them from bouncing out?? The bubble wrap on the top?? Sorry to say, that doesn't work. Whoever sent these to you needs to seriously go back to wrapping school!! It's not that hard to do, it just takes a little bit of time. All they would have needed to do was wrap each egg in bubbles and put 2 flats on them, one on top and one on bottom, to hold them in. I hope they learn how to do it before they send anymore

Oh dear lord!! That's just heart breaking!

How many eggs had you ordered total? What breeds were they going to be? How many survived? Was this carnage a result of poor packing, or rough handling on the part of the postal service? And yes, we really do want to know where they came from, especially if this mess was due to poor packaging! Small consolation, but at least they did give you a full refund. So very, very sad! Poor little things never had a chance!

She only got half the cost refunded I believe. That is just terrible. I think lots of folks want to blame the post office rather quickly, but the packaging and how far they travel make a huge difference. I would be surprised if any of your eggs develop. Check the air sacs, see if they are anywhere where they need to be. Good luck, I think the seller should research packing and then send you a free batch, since they kept your half of the money. That is only fair to you. Now, the ones left will cost you electric and time and you may still end up with zero chicks. Best of luck.

I agree, you should share (who), but I understand not wanting to. HenZ

You could always post in the feedback thread, at least that will let others know of this

And I think this is a perfect example of poor packaging. Those eggs could have been broken like that if the box was set down a little too hard. There was nothing but a sheet of bubble wrap to hold the eggs 'still'. Ridiculous!

ETA: I just noticed that it doesn't look like there was any 'filler' in the box?? Was it just bubble wrap and a flat of eggs? CRAZY!!!
