I just went out and there was an EE egg in the box. So my new total is 12... I'll blame it on OCD... Yes, that's it, it bugged me to have only 11....

Hmm. I hear the egg song and my bantam was in the nest box when I left. To check, or not to check? I really ought to be strong.

This is my first attempt. I have the same Inc as the one in the start of this thread. I'm pretty sure of the answer, but anyway-are temp and same time turning most important? A neighbor saw my Inc an said"my dad (a farmer) used to just put the eggs in a box with a 60 watt bulb an Wes always got chicks". Could this be, or is he skipping something?

LG 9200? Is there a model # on the box?

Yes, temp & turning are very important, but you also need adequate humidity. Do you have eggs in yet, if so, what temperature are you running at? Humidity? Do you have calibrated thermometers and hygros? Auto or hand turner? If hand, you know to roll them an odd amount of times and never in the same direction twice, (will tear the chalazae) right?

Some have had luck with just a light, ( @lindalouly) but in general you will have much better hatch rates with a thermostat and fan.
What breeds are you setting? Shipped eggs or local?

Good luck with your adventure, it is very exciting.

Oh, forgot to ask, does it have a fan? Or is it still basic?
Do you have it at 101.5?
