My Hatching Journey: the Adventures of a Complete Newbie

that is no big deal it is a really simple design . I bought these at auction last year . used the hatcher for the new years hatch . but the old Styrofoam to incubate . so this will be a first for me too .I'll start taking pictures tonight . If that is my phone is not ruined from getting rained on yesterday .:/ hope you get your eggs today you need to set more for a better chance.

If not, I do have a backup place I can probably get some eggs from that sells chicks and hatching egg. My other neighbor gave me 2 bantam eggs from some hens she has so that's a few more there.

(one went broody and hatched 3 so she knows they are fertile. Seeing those chicks cemented my desire to hatch bantams... Oh my goodness....

I could fit all 3 in my hand!)

How are your quail eggs?

Doing fine! Of course, as we discussed, I have 95% fertility! I did pull another one a couple of nights ago when I marked air cells, blood ring. So I have 32 developing nicely.

Oh... one odd thing, I noticed the air cell on one is on the side!!! Will have to keep an eye on that one.

Side air cell? Hm, strange, someone else had a problem with a side AC (in chicken eggs) and I thought it was rare... Guess not as much as I thought? I hope it hatches.

I don't remember if it hatched, quit, or is still cookin'....

raise your degree and maybe a half .more . maybe you'll get lucky and get one more before set .
