I should have picked up on the placement of your hygro . sorry .
The plus is you didn't buy eggs
these are the kinds of things I do all the time. we all do. there is all ways a reason. figuring it out and making it work that is the hard part . lets hope this is and was the reason .


thermo placement looks good where is the hygro .
I can't remember did you add water last hatch . run it dry until the eggs are in and the temperature is stabilized .

I added a little bit of water, just enough to bump it up 5%.

The feed store should have chicks by then, so I'll either buy myself a consolation or congratulations present. Win-win.

Ok, just to make sure I'm prepared for settin' bantams:

Since I'm doing bantam eggs, anything extra I need to know?
Should I treat them like LF in terms of humidity and incubation temperature?
Do OEGB hatch sooner than LF or just serama?
Think 101 is good for temperature?
How do you actually count days? I was under the impression that the first 24 hours were day 1 & after that you were starting on day 2, but some recent posts on that subject left me confused....

Day you set is day 0.

I look at it like surgery - day of surgery is post-op day 0, the next day is post op day 1 since it has been 1 day since surgery.

I was thinking about your hatch. did someone say that the Bantem eggs hatch quicker ? Did you get the other eggs ? I've disinfected but not back together yet .

. meetings all day . hope to finish tonight . then start on the next one . and then the hatcher needs cleaning and disinfecting . oh what fun .

Good morning. I'm pretty sure they hatch a little quicker, but not much.

Edit: No, I didn't get the eggs yet, but it will probably be today.

I'm pretty sure they hatch a little quicker, but not much. More like do a candle a day early and check for drawdown, but I'm not positive of that is for OEGB as well.... I know it is for serama....

that is no big deal it is a really simple design . I bought these at auction last year . used the hatcher for the new years hatch . but the old Styrofoam to incubate . so this will be a first for me too .I'll start taking pictures tonight . If that is my phone is not ruined from getting rained on yesterday .
