My Hatching Journey: the Adventures of a Complete Newbie

I started gathering for set on the 24th but may start from the 25th enough to fill the incubator and then some on the eggs . My EEs lay pretty blue eggs . and a good size . for a medium sized chicken.:yesss:

:thumbsup

X2! :lau I have a few chickens. K has a ton!
K has something beyond a ton.

My thermo setup, it goes to the right height on a bantam egg so I might have to fiddle with it for LF:

I think I know what went wrong... With temps set exactly as they were before, (I sharpied a line where I had it set for the whole set period and room temps are the same) it read 105 at the new measurement level.
No, that was not a typo. Now I feel really stupid.
If that is correct, than it spiked to 108 at the highest... Which would explain everything. If only I had measured a few inches higher... I might have had chicks. Y'all are free to laugh at me now. :he

Maybe I can actually hatch something this time, now that I know what happened.

No laughing from me.....:hugs

Thanks. :hugs I just feel bad knowing if I had read up on embryo position and temp measuring in still air I wouldn't have killed those chicks... Oh well, that's one mistake I won't repeat.

Me neither... sorry, that sucks... :( :hugs

But at least you know now what happened...

Thank you... :hugs
Here's hoping I don't win the worst hatch award at the EHAL. Small goals. :fl

You'll do just fine! You got new thermos, set at right height and learned from the first try... :thumbsup

no hatching is a self taught art. I should have picked up on the placement of your hygro . sorry . the plus is you didn't buy eggs . these are the kinds of things I do all the time. we all do. there is all ways a reason. figuring it out and making it work that is the hard part . lets hope this is and was the reason . thermo placement looks good where is the hygro .?I can't remember did you add water last hatch . run it dry until the eggs are in and the temperature is stabilized .
