Bator is still rock solid temps.... Most adjusting I have had to do is take out a vent plug for 2 minutes. Very very very happy!

There appears (who knows what is going on in the places without a thermo) to be a minimum of cold/hot spots as well. One corner is .2 degrees cooler on average but I don't have eggs there.... Which could be the cause..... But in inhabited spots, temp is at 101.6-102.
Candle is coming up in a few days.... Oh I dearly hope I see veining....

Don't worry about hot or cold spots. there are always spots that will be hot or cold around the outsides of small incubators . as long as it stays constant where the eggs are is all that matters . one thing I think you should do is not do what your told .do not take out the humidity plugs until you lock down to hatch . the vent holes give the eggs plenty of fresh air . there small vent holes in the bottom that are equal in size to the ones in the top . warm air leaves through the top vents and draws fresh air up from the bottom . taking out the humidity vent plugs increases the air flow and that is what lowers the temperature. I know what you have been told and it is your hatch just wish you wouldn't is all .

Too cute. She looks like she's smiling. :love

Reminds me.... I met the nicest duck today.... I was looking over some goat kids at a friend's place, and he came waddling into the barn. He even went through my pockets for treats and didn't seem scared at all.

What did I do wrong with raising my ducks? Almost all of mine were skittery. They wouldn't get within 10 feet of me...

True, I guess ventilation is more important if you have it filled to capacity instead of just 1doz eggs.
I'll think about it..... Thanks....

This is also why I don't want you wrapping up the incubator. make sure it clear around the bottom , this is important !!!!!! make sure air can get to the bottom vents .
Where on the bottom? Is it bad I have it on a towel to soak up water spills? Should I take that out from under?

It might be blocking them. Yet another thing I almost screwed up horribly.

might be blocking them if you some type of flat pan like a cookie pan or even just plastic. would be better. just make sure they stay open. what about humidity how is it ?

Ok. Humidity was 30% last I checked...
