My Hatching Journey: the Adventures of a Complete Newbie

I just did a real quick early day 18 candle on that egg.
Good news... Well, there's something in there.
Bad news... Way too small of an embryo for day 18 I think, and dark spots. No growth, unless it is filling up the bottom where I can't see?
Somehow it won't show up good on camera, but I will draw a picture of what it looks like and post.

Good: something is in there... No blood ring!
Bad: way too small for day 18 I think, strange seperate dark spots. No growth, unless it is filling up the bottom where I can't see???

No movement, I waited a bit with the candler on it to check but nothing... Maybe it was resting.

I enlarged and I'm wish someone else was saying this but looks like it may have quit . two much space and fluid in the bottom of the egg . hard to see without enlarging it .the video link I sent you is a day fourteen egg . lock it down and see what happens but . I think you need to be thinking about maybe hatching some one else's eggs . any chance you flock is still sick with something ? all your Incubator setting seemed to be right on. 103 temperature spike this late in the hatch would not cause that . or is there any chance you had spikes you did not catch ? and I want you to show us what your using for thermometers .

I was wondering that myself. All the chickens are healthy at first glance, but occasionally I'll hear a sneeze or a gurgle from the roosters. Then it seems to go away for a month or two....

Ignore the reading on the 2nd one, it read off when I calibrated it so it is actually good.

what you are seeing is fluid that should not be there hard to see from small pictures makes me think it growing at least till the fourteenth day lock it down and let it run the rest of its time out and see . I like to see movement at lock down . things like blood rings mean fertile eggs . you just need to make sure that everything is working right as far as temperature . the Hygro II is close enough .

All right. At least I won't be too disappointed now if day 21 comes and goes with nothing. Thanks.
