My heart is broken, Scovey Hen flew off yesterday

We have had one of our Muscovy hens show up after a month of being missing. She also brought along her 16 baby ducklings she hatched. They love to set...even when young.

Miss Lydia, we have a River about 18 miles away from us and lots of ponds in our area (we're a farming community). We've never seen any other Muscovies on the waters here except for a Drake and Hen owned by a friend who lives about 3 miles away. I have seen wild Mallards on the ponds near us quite often. A few times we've had Hooded Merganzers show up on our pond and swim with our ducks but we mainly see them in summer. I'm worried about her being lost, she's led a spoiled life, always food and treats at her disposal, always sheltered from bad weather, a safe and cozy place to sleep at night. I hate that she's just "out there" .

CountryMom...a month? Good grief I can't imagine her being gone a week, but a month? ACK! I am so glad your Gal came home!!

I know how you feel mine were gone for 2 nights and the 3 that left are solid white so they stood out like a sore thumb... I sure hope she comes home soon. I would love to see a happy ending to this one like we had for lovesaduck, This is the time of year mine seem more antsy maybe it's because it's getting closer to breding season, but they try their best to get lift, but thank goodness they can't go any where.. still praying and hoping for you and Scooter..

Maybe a silly question but have you had any luck yet with finding your Muscovy? You are on my mind constantly and all I want for is to hear the good news that she is back home with you! Please update us with any information - we are keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed that she flies home NOW to you!

Still no sign of Scooter :-( She's been gone exactly one week now and it's killing me. I'm still calling her name everytime I go outside just in case she's flying in the area. My Husband has about decided she's never coming home but I refuse to think that. I sure am thankful for your good thoughts and wishes

just want to share this photo of my Scooter girl. I took this 2 weeks ago when we had a "big snow" (big for southern arkansas LOL). Isn't she beautiful? I miss her so much!!!!!!

This could be totally stupid, but has anyone tried a duck caller like the hunters use? I know nothing about them except that the ducks come when they use them. I suppose the callers are specific for the type of duck......just thinking off the top of my head.

She's a lovely duck.....looks so sweet. Scooter GO HOME!!!!!

I used to try calling my ducks up from the pond with a caller but they all ignored it. Now if I stand and holler " Max, Molly, Molly2, Lilbit, Scrappy, Scooter, Maggie, Mammaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa", they all come running immediately LOL We've been out hollering Scooter's name all over the neighborhood and outer areas with no luck. I'm hoping she's just randy and found a fella. We only know one other scovie owner in the area and she's not at their place. This has been one rough week, shoot I've had dreams of her every night and wake up thinking I'm going to see her outside my window.

I am sorry that Scooter hasn't come home to you yet. I hope that she finds her way back to you soon, and that she brings her new boyfriend with her. I'll keep you in my prayers.
