my old Ameraucana girl was a "favorite" of our late rooster and he wasn't always gentle with her, so she's missing basically all of her feathers on her lower back. he's been gone almost a month (carried off by a fox. poor ol boy :c) so there hasn't been any new agitation to the area, but I'm just not seeing any indication of new feather quills. her skin looks pretty red and a quite a bit dry, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her much. she's still eating and running around just fine; dust baths and sunning herself, etc. the only behavior change i've noticed is a little bit of increased aggression, but not too much more than normal. she's always been pretty fiesty, but i've noticed her pecking the others more often.
I just wanna know if there's anything I could do for her. I don't want her to get sick from being in the sun, or have her at an increased risk for infection or anything! she's one of my oldest birds and I care a lot about her.
any ideas?
