My hen has a prolapsed vent !

When your chickens are free ranging, do they have grit available to them?
With you having to massage her crop a lot, and now a prolapse, I would think that points to your chicken finding it difficult to digest her feed. Make sure she has some grit to help her break down her feed. It could help avoid a problem like this in the future.

EDIT: If the feed you showed in the picture is the only chicken feed available to you, it would help your chicken digest it if you soaked it in water overnight before feeding it to her. It would certainly help her while you are trying to fix the prolapse. Just an idea.

I don't massage her crop likr everyday, when I'm holding her and petting her, I massage her crop. I'm doing it cause she likes it, not because she has troubke digesting. Small misunderstanding:) and I wil definently start soaking the feed, thank you !

I know I said this awhile ago. Have you given her any baby asprin? 1/2 the pill twice a day for 4 days. It will help to reduce swelling as it is a (nsaid).
We don't have baby asperin, and most pharmacists are closed because it is new years:hmm

Guys I put the prolapse back in and its staying there this time ! It looks like the normal butt- it always looked like lips to me ! Ill be watching her. Some of the white stuff couldnt come off, if I took it off her whole prolapse whould have come off. And she laid another egg before I put it back, i think she migt be getting broody. She's peckimg at things again and making noises, but I'll still watch her closely for poop and see if the prolapse stays in place. I'll keep you updated !

Is there any possibility of a chicken diaper, pressure bandage like thing that could help without blocking the passage? Like a post surgery doughnut butt cushion idea? To help hold it in while she heals assuming there’s no other underlying issues (that’s what I’d be worried about... why did it prolapse to begin with?)
In case you missed it... @Cragg Klefor provided the link to a prolapse sling. Several people have used it and it's been very helpful.
