I have a group of very well kept and healthy Reds in central Florida. This morning I noticed one of them standing alone with her rear end up and her rear end feathers all nasty looking. I took her and gently cleaned her rear up and noticed a pink meaty protrusion that didn't look right. I applied a very little pressure to it and it did not want to easily go back in her so I stopped. The other hens didn't seem to bother her as they would if she were bleeding and she went back in the hen house and was sitting on about 14 eggs, so I was just going to leave her alone.
Can anyone tell me what has happened to her and what I should do about it?
Also, will the eggs be alright and hatch as hens don't constantly sit on them, they get off of them every time we come out to the yard to feed them.
Thanks
