My hen is acting strange...

Well, I took away the eggs, so she's just sitting there... I don't really have anything to put her in to keep her away from the coop
Best to get something then. A wire dog crate is ideal as it allows for cool air to get under their bellies to help break broodiness but I've gone as far as cobbling together a wooden cart and chicken wire to make a temporary enclosure.

So, it's fine if I take her back at night?
Yes, if you need to do so for safety:

IF the isolation cage is not safe for overnight stay (i.e. sits outside the run) then put her on the roost at night, and retrieve her from the nest box the next morning and put her back in the cage. It may take a little longer this way but better than letting a predator get to her.
