My hen is crowing

I heard an unfamiliar crow a few days ago. When I turned to see who it was, the only chickens there were my game bantam cockrel and my buff laced seabright pullet. She crowed again while I was watching her. She looks and acts like a girl, but I don't know if she is laying yet. Some of my 7-8 month olds still aren't.

Sebright males are what is called "hen feathered". It is quite possible you have a male.

This little rooster has girlie looking saddle feathers but pointy boy hackle feathers in its cape.

Yup. We had a trio of males many years ago that had round hackle feathers too. Every one of them was 100% male.
Very showy birds!

I'm not allowed to have a rooster which is why a crowing hen is creating so much stress for me. I don't mind the crowing.
Yep, another one-size-fits-all law/rule. Maybe you can prove it's a hen and not a rooster. You are following their rules, they just have to accept the laws of nature.

I'd love to get a few myself! I've always thought they were stunning little guys, almost like little toy soldiers!

They are super tiny birds. I was surprised how tiny they stayed.

Ours were golden sebrights. Yes they come in a few varieties. There is no large fowl equivalent making them true bantams.

No one sells them sexed.....for rather obvious reasons...Soooooo tiny!
