my hen is young but her egg needs an AARP check!

Got this one today,,,either a dinosaur snuck in and layed it or it's a baby elephant egg. Looks like an old retired Florida grandma egg!!!

hard as a normal egg ,,,,but texture is like hard veins.

Looks like something slowed down that hens egg production. Do you know if she layed on the day before? I know probably a silly question with the number of chickens you have!!

Hard to tell if she layed in the previous days. But,I have seen this once before and there was an egg in the egg...I'm gonna crack this one open tonight.

Interesting. I'd be watching her. That could just be the kinks being worked out in the plumbing, but it looks slightly ominous. She looks like she had a hard time passing that one through the system.

I'd get those all the time from my 4/5-yr old Black Stars. The eggs are fine--just not perfect. For some reason we think all eggs should look like the ones that are for sale in the super market--remember the ones with soft, distorted or odd shaped shells are culled out--they are in the cake mixes.
