My hen likes a golfball....

So my 2 year old brahma hen has decided to sit. But not on eggs.....on a golfball. I tried removing the golfball to another nest box as I put them in to try and deter pecking. She moves to the nest with the golfball.......why has she chosen this golfball as her offspring......

Because it's there, and she thinks it may hatch. I once had a mule duck hen that went broody. Knowing that she could not lay eggs, I watched her and discovered where she was setting. She was incubating 3 green apples. I gave her some viable duck eggs.

I use golfballs in my nests instead of fake eggs and my broodies will collect them from all the boxes.

Omfg that's hilarious. Well I plan to pick up some newborn hatchlings tomorow. I'm told if I stick them under her at night she will likely accept them. I hope so because iv tried breaking her and shes relentless.........
