My hen only lays every other day

She's a silky and can only lays every other day. As for her daughter Frosty only lays once or twice
a week

In my experience this is not at all unusual in some silkie strains.

Silkie just don't lay a ton of eggs. Very rarely are there hens that will lay eggs every single day of the week non stop.

I believe some breeds or individuals will just not lay very much. For example, a Red Star pulley may lay an egg every single day of the week, while a more ornamental breed such as a polish, silkie, or Crevecoeur may only lay two or three eggs a week. Sometimes the chickens will just altogether take a break from laying and resume after a day or two. Hope that helps!
