Mine were picky at first and then I wondered if they were unclear on how they could use their beaks as harpoons. So I tried grating carrots and apple, etc. Provided it's bite sized, they will eat it.

And I'm always in the kitchen cooking so it's little effort on my part.

Are you kidding me if all 16 of my hens see me come up to there coop with a bowl they are all attacking me HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE:lol:

Try cantalope. My girls and boys LOVE IT. Our birds are on a ALL organic feed diet and we feed them compost as well (the love it) The only thing I have found that my flock wont touch is Broccoli. But there daily mix includes: Lettuce, Spinache, Kale, Bananas, Carrots, Corn, Grapes, Breads, Crackers, Cerials, Kiwi, Oranges,Mixed Greens, Beans, Peas,......this list goes on. Try other sweet fruits such as Mixed Berries, Melons and grapes.

Good luck

Thank you so much for all of your feedback! There are a lot of ideas I haven't tried. After I shovel out the 16 inches of snow we got yesterday I will start trying them.

Mine like cabbage. They also like whole corn! (Weird I always wonder if they are going to choke.) You know... I just leave it out and it disappears. Keep trying!
