That's frightening, I'm sorry.

Snake proofing may need to be done. That appears to be a pretty decent sized snake (here, I've only seen common garter snakes. Too small to mess with sizeable chickens. Knock on wood I didn't just jinx it.)

I'm sure somebody on here is knowledgeable about snake proofing, but I'm assuming that 1/4" hardware cloth could be used for most of it. I just wouldn't know how high up the fence to put it (certainly higher than the snake is long?), or how it would need to be buried to keep out those types of snakes. (And mice or rats.)
