Ok can anyone explain to me why my hens are chasing my jake around? Even if he just eating the chase him, he never bothers anyone, they bother him. And my actually Tom is trying to mate everything but the turkey hens. He is a bourbon. He has a bourbon hen. Then I have a Royal Palm Jake and 2 hens. He will try mating me, water bottles, the air, the ladder for perching. And he mates my chickens. He is 3 yrs old! Is he confused, going blind, to old?

3 isnt old for a tom, so I doubt it's that. My tom is about 3 and acting normal.

Someone may be able to help, but I would remove him from your chickens. If he is mounting them, it's only a matter of time before he kills one. They're rough enough on Turkey hens, I cant imagine a chicken being smashed by a 3 yr old tom!

in answer to the rug-mating issue... the turkey hen needs to submit by lowering herself for the mating to happen, so the rug is just the right height, the turkey-hens might just not be submissive to him.
