Just curious but you are aware that they do take breaks from laying every now and again? 17 months old is not too old.

And we had a hen that layed an egg almost every day in her life till she was 15 years old!

great station! DH will be seeing this one...we're a long way off from needing one, but eventually it's in the plan!
Can someone who uses the cones tell me something? How do you get the bird down in the cone securley while their still thrashing and kicking and pecking? And even once their in it...dont the bite while you try to get ahold of their head? Sorry if that sounds dumb...remember I've never done it before
