My house got invaded last night.....

Too funny! We're still in the process of building our home, and as such, we haven't yet built the porches that will run the full length down each side of the house. But I'm sure that as soon as those are done, Chief and his girls will be right up there, taking over the whole joint!

For now, they'll just have to content themselves with the porch of the guest cabin!

LOL. I call my buff orp roo sonny too. And he sits at my bedroom sliding glass doors and watches every move I make. Now he has the girls doing it.

I loved the photos.

so cute, my brahma hen Buffy comes in through the doggie door, but the dachshunds always escort her back out. It's like they are saying, We can't come in your house so you can't come in ours!

I have at least five now who enter my kitchen - it started with Matilda who regularly comes to the house and eats the dogs food - then she introduced Phillipe, Blindside ( he only has one eye), Lady Grey and Honey ( one of my very special girls) - they come her for their Plat de jour ( meal of the day) which is served to them on a plate!

Solo, my male German Sheperd Dog does not approve of this and barks constantly at them, however, Brindille our female GSD couldn't care less - Matilda has laid her eggs indoors for us too!

I don't own chickens, only quail.. But I had 5 or 6 black orp roosters here one day, we kept them over night for freezer camp. They got to run all over our 500sq ft basement all night, when I woke up the next morning they were all sitting in front of the basement door that goes into the kitchen.. They had walked up 12 slick, steep stairs and waited there.. Wanting to invade my house

Lol, your house snatchers remind me of mine. I have up a poultry fence that is basically useless because my brats walk right through it and the moment the coop door is opened, they come rushing, right through the fence, and they make a bee line right for the house. They have learned that if they jump up on the porch railing and stand in the middle, they can look in the front door, and if they move all the way to the end, they can peer in the kitchen window. It's not just chickens though. The ducklings are super smart too and they come running. They have learned that if they stand on the patio right under the living room windows and peep as loud as they can, we'll bring food and treats out. Mostly because it's really annoying when we're trying to watch a movie and there are 7 ducklings standing under the windows making a ruckus. And if you open the front door, you are gonna get bum rushed. They'll come in like they own the place. On the plus side, any feed that gets spilled in the dining room gets instantly cleaned up, so it's not like it goes to waste. They are by no means stupid. They KNOW where the food comes from, and they KNOW where I keep the food. Chicken food is in the dining room, right by the front door, and people food is in the kitchen. Some of them are smart enough to know what the kitchen is for, and they run straight for it if they can sneak their fluffy butts in the front door. Quick trick to get them back outside? Show them a treat and then toss it out the door! Works every time. Once I had a hen come walking in the house and she went through the kitchen, down the back hall to check out the bathroom (where she and her group had been brooded, she remembers that), and then went back into the hallway, found a towel the kids had dropped, proceeded to squat, lay an egg, and then got up and walked back out of the house like it had never happened. Sometimes I wonder, who has WHO trained at my house?
