The other is the division of unemployment in whatever state you live in. Almost all employers throw their posting at them so they are usually all listed. Currently many states are offering employer incentives to employers who hire people from these sites.

I agree completely, my husband and I have moved from WY to CA, back to WY and now to ND all for the sake of bettering ourselves and securing our future. We own two houses and do well for ourselves and we are only 29 & 30. It is hard to uproot and leave family behind, but the miracle of aviation and a good paying job makes visiting family around the country fairly simple. Not to mention you can always talk your family into moving with you! If the oilfield is not your thing there are lots of different jobs here. Farm workers, retail, restaurants, office workers etc... The land is moderately priced. You can find good deals within 30 minutes of Minot. My husband is working on sending me a job link and a full description, but you can always look on jobsnd.com.

Did I mention that it is beautiful here? We purchased 5 acres in a little town pop. 100 that only has a little tiny store and one gas pump, and we love it! The people are nice and very helpful. One of the fellow BYCers in my area gave me some turkeys and gives me good advice on the area all the time, and my neighbor of 6 months watched my chickens and turkeys for two weeks while I was on vacation and didn't even complain when my mean rooster attacked her!
 
I've been to Minot, ND quite a few times!! It's a very nice town!!!!

I'd also post ads on the AF base in Minot! Alot of couple especially wives that are in the military have husbands looking for good jobs.

Wow, we have been thinking about relocating in 4-8 months. When we get our tax return, and when DH finds a new job. My DH has driven the largest Uhaul type trucks when he worked for a moving company. And he used to drive our 35 foot long prevost bus that you had to double clutch in. But he only has a regular drivers lisence.

But we were not thinking about relocating that far. We were going to stay on the west coast. But darn it, there really is no jobs here. He has a job right now. But it feels a bit shaky. Because his boss has already gave one of his houses and one of his cars back to the bank. So DH is worried about his job that he has had for the last 5 years.

I will let me DH know about this. But more than likely he will say no. Because he dont like to drive in the snow. And I do believe it snows there.. We dont get snow here. And when we do it is usually all melted in a few hours..

So what is the price of land there. Like, lets say a 3-4 bedroom house with an acre or two. Can be a fixer.. I know land here is expensive, even with no house on the property. Not even electric or any thing.. Just empty land. Around here the land alone could cost you $100,000 or more... And that is usually just a lot in town.


Oh and what is rental prices around there.. For about the same room sizes as above.. But can be just a city lot size.

One of the weirder ones IMO... either raise the age to sell, or lower the age to drink, but they ought to be the same... considering the drinking age was raised back in... what 1982 was it in Texas?... they've had plenty of time to figure out the rest.

I have seen a lot of variance in the land prices around here. We bought a 2 story 2,000 square feet house on 5 acres with a huge barn and shop for $249, 000. I have seen 11 acres with a three bedroom house for $149, 000. I know two realestate links that we used a lot were minotsells.com and minothomes.com . My husband says rental on a three bedroom is going from between $800 to $1400 depending on how new the houses are. I know that he has 10+ workers that are all renting. I have driven all over Minot and I have not seen any blithe areas. ND has the lowest crime rate in the nation and it has the cleanest air!

Tuffoldhen- You would think that would be the case but I think there are just so many jobs available it is hard to lure people in when they have to do the bbackground checks and physicals.

Sunny- Yes it snows here... a lot, lol. But the spring warms quickly and the summer is the prettiest I have ever seen. It has not snowed here yet this year and I am guessing we have until mid-december before we see a lot of snow this year.

My husband just gave me this info: jobsnd.com listing #226128 for a better description, also he needs a diesel mechanic if there is one out there looking for work!
 
WOW I just may have to move.... a 3 bedroom town house on a postage stamp lot with a yard that you can cut with a pair of kitchen scissors goes from $210,000 - $250,000 here
