My husband cannot find enough employees? Anyone need a job?

Lots of people need jobs, unfortanately many of them don't really want to work.

We are in north central MN, if I think of anyone to pass the word to I'll let you know!

If I were 30 years younger, I'd be all over this! *sigh*

Oops I just realized that I said they have to be 21 years old, lol. I meant at least 21 for insurance purposes. If you think you can pass the DOT physical, and drive you should check it out. My husband has worked with plenty of guys in there 50's+ He doesn't have any shop positions right now, but if you are interested in that look and the jobsnd.com site. There are a lot of oil companies that are hard up for workers here.

Unfortunately this is exactly the problem. He has told plenty of people who just can't seem to find a job anywhere that he could give them a good job if they are willing to really work, and they backed out of that conversation really quickly.

Thank you for all the ideas for employee searches everyone! I told him chicken people are good people!

Oddly enough he might try posting on Craigslist. In various locations. My husband found his last job on craigslist. Worth a try.

Just to let people know, my DH and I moved here from KY, he works outside year round for the railroad and I work outside year round for an oil company. If you don't have to wear shorts in January and dress properly for you work conditions it really is NOT that bad, and NOT that cold.

The worst thing in this area is there are so many good paying jobs and not enough people, we also do not have enough housing for all the people working in this area. We have homeless people making $9000 a month!

Where I work, there are people up from CA. MO, MI, etc....so your DH might consider posting on Monster or another similar job recuitment site.

I agree. We just moved here, but my husband has been working here and commuting from WY for 2 years. It is cold but if you prepare for it and dress for it you will do fine. My husbands company gives them a boot allowance and provides them with all of their sub zero cold weather coveralls. This is an awesome perk because that stuff is expensive! We are lucky that here in Minot it is not the center of the oilfield yet and there is still plenty of housing to be had and also being built. I have found lot's of nice little properties like the 5 acres we purchased within 20 minutes of the companies shop. All of the workers my husband has now except 1 are transfers from other states and all of them have found rentals. Only one has actually bought a house. Plus like I mentioned the company leases 3 condos that they allow workers to stay in while they are finding housing and relocating their family.

wow, a surplus of jobs! Amazing!
I've been job hunting for many months here in Northern CA. I'm actually a licensed general Contractor, but there's no work for small contractors around here, so I'm trying to get in with a large company, but everyone is laying off.

Sounds like you need to move to ND! I know that my husband is looking into expanding so he is getting a new shop and the one he is looking into leasing/buying is a building contractor's that has grown out of their building. Someone is building a huge new shop for Halliburton and I am sure that if you can find the contractors name they will be hiring. I know that it is hard for people to up root, but I know that moving around has been the key to our success.
