I have been a member on backyard chickens now for 6 years, so I’m not really new, but I havnt been active in a while and just got back into chickens. I never made an introduction though so I figured I might as well make one. I have had numerous breeds through the years, and I currently have 14 breeds, which include;
Buff orpingtons
Rhode Island reds
New Hampshire’s
Delaware’s
Dominique’s
White rocks
Barnevelders
Welsummers
Easter eggers
Black australorps
Asian blacks
Brown leghorns
Production reds
And dark Cornish bantams
All my chicks at the moment are under 2 months old as I just got started back. My new flock have come from two sources: ideal poultry, and tractor supply. I have raised numerous other breeds throughout the years I’ve had chickens.
Me and my wife live in a small town in South Georgia, we have five dogs, two horses, a guinea pig, two rabbits and 56 chickens. (But were just starting our little farm off )
By profession I am a truck driver, and while I love driving 80,000 pound vehicles down the highway, my real passion is animals, especially poultry. Besides raising birds, I also love hunting and fishing.
