Boy! Am I glad I went ahead and subscribed to this thread! I've been busier than a ....well..you know..very busy! And I wouldn't have gotten the good news about Ivy and Ginger had I not....
Cyn, such good news. As you say, at least they appear to be more comfortable now. That's the best any of us can ever do for our girls, isn't it? Make them happy, comfortable and loved.
Oh! And some good news that might brighten your day Cyn, (since you seem to have a penchant for the BR's
)...Our little Rosie, LizzyBeth's sister, (remember my special needs child?) started laying yesterday! Woooot!!! I think Rachel might be right behind her any day now too. I've been noticing Rosie getting rather broad and square in the back end and her comb has turned the most wonderful deep red in the last two weeks. Thanks to you Cyn, I knew this was what to watch for. And get this...Rosie not only laid her first egg yesterday, she did a repeat performance today!!
I'll post some pictures later this week of her first two. Good size to them as well!
Since this is my first experience with BR's Cyn, maybe you can tell me. Is this common for them? My BO's, GSL, and LB's all went a couple of days at least in between their first and second egg. If this is any indication of what BR's are capable of, I'm
impressed! Is it any wonder they're one of your favorite breeds!! Wish I'd known this two and a half years ago when we first started! I'd have made the whole dang flock be BR's!
Thanks for sharing the good news on Ivy and Ginger Cyn. Good words are always such a pleasure to read. How is Dad coming along by the way? Hopefully you have good news regarding him as well
All my best Lady, and I'll continue to keep you and the girls in my thoughts, as well as your dad.
