My Ivy.. Latest Relapse...She's Gone

Cyn, I am beginning to think you should clear a spot and grow grapes!

blueberries work with my kids as well, too. Tell Ivy and the other girls that we are still all rooting for them!

Kung Fu, Sumo wrestling DeDe- I love it!

Quote:
OH, GOOD GOD ..... She has the stance of a Sumo wrestler! HOLY COW ! ! !

ETA: Is that pink handled axe there as a threat to the girls to be good?

Hahaha, no, just the wood splitter. No threat to any of the girls unless they knock it over on themselves, LOL.

Beth, I do have grapes, but they just won't grow in my awful soil here. They've been in the ground for years and still only produce a couple bunches a year.

Want some free poop horse compost? It will help your ground grow ANYTHING.

ETA: the word poop. Otherwise it sounded like I was killing and burying horses.

OMG you posted a pic of my girl's bare bottom...how could you?

For general knowledge ... DeDe has some awesome Kung Fu moves... She arches her neck and pulls it back and then strikes! She has Kung Fu'd the dog, the rooster and the cat. She also has some fancy footwork.

She has done great with the flock today and will be going into the coop to sleep tonight so keep your fingers crossed...at least the coop is air conditioned. hahahaha

I am sad that she did not get to meet Thor but they did get to see each other from a distance and meet through the wire of her little outside hut.

She has been laying 4 or 5 eggs each week. Now the Porcelains will take over her half of the dog crate in the basement and keep Ebony and Baize company.

Thank you for DeDe Cyn we really love her and she is actually not hating being held and loved on anymore...she finally just gave up fighting off Cheyenne who insisted she was going to hold and cuddle her.

Poor girl was just trying to dub herself without instructions. Silly Delilah. She will be large enough for the son of or brother of Thor, when he grows up. She's a good layer for over three years old, I think.

Awww! LadyHawk, they're both beautiful. I swear Cheyenne is getting prettier and more grown up looking every day. How old is she now?

And holy smokes! Is DeDe ever BIIIIIIG!! I didn't really realize just how big until you posted the pics of her on Cheyenne's lap!

3 ax handles wide I'd say!

What a darn dirty shame that she and Thor never got to spend some time together.

Can you just imagine the babies those two could have produced!?!

Cynthia! Is DeDe really 3 YEARS old?!?!

She doesn't look a day over 9 months! Another testament to how wonderfully well you take care of your birds!

While Denny and Annie were gone this afternoon, I snuck some grapes out to Chief and the girls!
lol.png
OMGosh! It was a total free for all! The only way I could get any of them to Chief was to toss three or four at a time out to the girls. While they were running around in a frenzied game of keep away with the whole grapes, I managed to get one I had torn in half to Chief!

The things I have to go through just to assure that my baby boy gets at least a taste of what the girls are going so nuts about! My next step will probably be having to take him into the house with me for a few minutes and give him his goodies safely out of reach of those crazy women of his!

Sometimes I wonder if maybe he's just a little TOO thoughtful and considerate of the girls. He's missing out on all of the treats! How is he gonna grow up to be a huge and handsome and strong boy, if the girls keep doing him out of all of the good body building treats?!?!?!?

Cyn, she is a good layer and really a sweetie...she tries to hide that sweet side but she would hop up on the porch and come visit with me when I was sitting out there but screeched when I reached for her. LOL She is snoozing comfortably with the flock in the coop.

Serrin - Cheyenne will be 14 on August 9th. She was cute this weekend at the local swap...she was sitting out there playing the sax. A really nice old guy kept coming over and telling her to play so she played "Over the rainbow" "My Funny Valentine" "Tuxedo Junction" "Ain't Misbehaving" and "Balladair"...so you go to a poultry swap and get a sax concert. hahahaha

I must say I cannot wait for hubby to get back so I can upload my pics....I am realllllllly loving these Porcelain D'uccles. They are so super sweet and talkative. The little roo crows and I automatically smile. Cyn can verify...he has a cute little crow.

Hello Cyn - I've been catching up on your thread - and wanted to say hello. Its so wonderful to read about your love for your birds.. and I know I feel like I know Zane, and now Ivy. *smile* My hope is that she pulls thru again, though I know she is not doing well.

I've not been on BYC much, but BYCers "hang tight" on facebook, and WriterofWords, DeboRaymond, jmhappycowboy, and so many more are friends there as well.. and their conversations lead me back here now and then.

Just wanted to say hello and to wish you and your sweet Ivy and your other dear feathered family members the very best.. *hugs*

Wingnut (Stephanie)
