My Ivy.. Latest Relapse...She's Gone

Oh Cyn, it seems like the day is finally here - I'm praying she goes in peace, drifts off, and wakes up whole and healthy in the better place.

As I mentioned to a dear soul who Pm'd me, Ivy is still eating and drinking and showing interest or we would have already helped her along, but I fear she would fight me and I don't want her last thought to be that we were hurting her. Lexie won't leave her side. They are sitting on the cage floor, face to face. That is so amazing and touching that Lexie is choosing to stay in a strange place to be with Ivy.

Like sisters, until death do us part! I hope by morning Ivy will pass peacefully with her sister at her side.

Oh, Cyn! This is so very difficult I know. My prayer is that they will both know a peaceful and calm ending when the time comes. It's quite touching that they are so loyal to each other and sit quietly with each other as support. I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

I read Ivys story through awhile back when I first joined and I posted on one of her latest set backs...

My thoughts, prayer, and love go your way and I too hope Ivy passes in her sleep with her wonderful loving sister by her side to keep her company to the very end.

Ivy has been a part of many BYCers' lives, and we have all felt the ups and downs along with you, I will pray for Ivy tonight and be thinking of her and you. I hope that Lexie has an easier journey ahead of her than Ivy, but as you said it doesn't seem to be.

You have been so lucky to have such a valiant fighting spirit as your companion and friend for the four years you've had her. She will be missed greatly by you and us here on BYC who have wished her well for so long.
