My Khaki Campbell Disappeared!

Try Craigs list if you haven't you never know a lot more folks are going with back yard poultry. Yes your larger predators can grab with out leaving a trace.

I finally have an update!

So the Khaki never came back, and it's actually been a blessing in disguise. We were previously dealing with a VERY aggressive Pekin because of the mating. He would attack anyone at anytime for no reason. Since the female disappeared, he has been the biggest sweetheart (just like he was before they matured and started mating) We then decided maybe we should get another male, to prevent this aggression and we get to keep our sweet boy.

Last night my girlfriend surprised me and drove me out to a farm to pick out or new duck. There were lots to choose from, but this crested mallard caught my eye. He is very chill and relaxed. Perfect temperament for my Sunny duck. We brought him home and introduced them. First thing Sunny did? Grabbed him by his poof, smashed his beak into the straw and tried to mate with him :lau Looks like I've got gay ducks now, just like their owners lmao.

They are getting along very well and we are so happy that Sunny isn't lonely anymore. I know having 2 drakes isn't typical or common, but we see our ducks more as pets and spend quite a lot of time with them. We even took Sunny trick or treating and the neighborhood just loved him!

I had 2 males and they did great together. I think as long as you don’t add females to the mix you will be just fine. Also I would venture a guess that is a KC not a mallard. Mallards are a lot smaller than Pekin ducks. Glad that you have 2 buddies now!
