Money is tight and well chickens aren't a priority as far as the budget goes. We though needed a coop for a flock that I was given.
This is what Ive built so far:
1st day building. I used free pallets from carter lumber.
2nd day:
I used barn siding. 2 pieces , Lowes cut them to fit $17 for each panel.
3rd day:
I used a kitchen cabinet my brother in law got from a job site. The chickens had been laying in it and love it. I reversed it and kicked out the back of it so that they can get in and I can get in also to take the eggs!
4th day:
Door added to let the chickens in and out of the pen. The roof shown is temporary till I get plastic roofing and it will have more of an over hang. The holes left will get heavy duty hardware wire for ventilation and protection from coons.
I should have the coop finished in a couple weeks and will update when I do!
