She came home riding the Donkey, Bruce. Ken would never allow a DOG to ride in Shrek! He won’t even haul stuff in it. <sigh>. The name Fiona just sorta happenend.

Why have a truck if you aren't going to use it to haul stuff you can't put in a car?? Used to be people bought trucks because they were cheap, now they cost more than cars.

brucea, that's my attitude. Throw stuff in the back to haul it. Dh on the other hand, thinks an expensive truck should always be pristine. He keeps telling me he's afraid to get me a nice truck, because I won't take care of it. I have a Ford Expedition that's 18 years old. Still runs. When I wash it, it looks almost like new. The thing is, I don't ever wash it. I haul feed, hay, wood, and all sorts of things in the back. I do vacuum it up, but not immediately after use. It drives him nuts. I keep telling him, a truck is a work vehicle. By work vehicle, I mean it has to do some work, not transport you to, and from work.

I have never understood that about trucks. They are for work LOL! If you do not want to use it for work, get an suv or a car

yep Yep Yep.... My truck has 300,000 + miles on it... Beds cracked so the sides wiggle in the wind... I have gone through it part by part bring it into good working condition... Not perfect but good enough for me... No parking break. Only I can control the windows... door locs dont work any more and the windshield wiper fluid container is Missing... Not just broken... Missing.

BUt... It always starts even when left sit for a couple of months. Still gets about 22 miles to the gallon. I can pull a fully loaded horse trailer.... horse weighs 2500 pounds... Or Twenty two bales of hay... Our bales weigh about 125 lbs... and still does 22 miles per gallon.

Matter of fact there is a portion of highway 8 that is crazy steep and has runout places on the down hill side... I just put it in third gear and walk up the mountain following the line of big rigs... hauling hay It gets me there.

did I tell you my dad was a Joker....
Back before locking gas caps my dad had this friend that bought a new car and was Regaliing everyone with its faboulous attributes.

So Dad hatched this plan... Hed meetup with his freind at the local bar and shoot the breeze. During a trip to the head he would slp outside and put a cuple of gallons of gas in his friends gas tank.... He was just careful enough to not make his friend suspicious. After the first week the friend came into the bar with a gas chart.... Wow he was getting thirty miles to the gallon.... He bought a round...

the next week dad converted to subtraction.... Oh my gawd his friend became more and more despondant.... then Dad and all his friends started laughing and toldhim what they had done.... so glad he was a good natured person. All they got was a few curse words and some accusaitions of their parentage...
