My leukemia's back.

Puffy or crunchy?
Puffy! I will eat crunchy, but puffy are way better!

I prefer puffy - easier on teeth. BTW last year one store had trial sizes of Cheetos without the orange color. They were kinda pale yellow and didn't leave a colorful mustache after eating or orange hands. Can't find them anywhere - wish I could.

Those are good... but I prefer traditional. They are good though.

Grocery store tomorrow , will have to stock up on Cheetos and also Fun Yums sorta
onion rings.

Those were my favorite junk food as a kid! :lau I still eat them on occasion, but mostly just for nostalgia.

Vet called this AM, Rascal's "glow in the dark" number is just over .5 so they will test her again tomorrow and she should be able to come home. Poor kitty is SO bored in her cage. And of course she has no idea why we abandoned her to a jail cell. I wonder how long she will hide after she gets out of the carrier.

I must have missed something Bruce...what happened to Rascal?

Not Rascal. First she is hell to catch. When she comes home she bolts out of the carrier as soon as there is a 3" gap in the zipper and hides. Who know if having been gone a week will change any of that. Prior vet visits were only checkup or in/out the same day. Maybe she'll be SO grateful we rescued her from jail that she will want to stay close.
Yeah, right ;)

She was diagnosed with hyperthyroid back in November. I noticed she seemed to be getting bony. I think they weighed her at a bit over 5 pounds, she's normally 8 (yeah a small cat). Apparently it is pretty common in cats her age (about 12). Vet prescribed some medicine that went in her food 2x/day, test her 3 weeks later to see if the thyroid numbers came down. They did and she was up to 6.5 pounds. Once I knew the problem I started giving her a lot more food and a fair bit of deli meat too. She loves that stuff.

We could have stuck with the medicine but once shipping was added it was $65/month and we had to be REAL sure the other 2 cats didn't get into her food. She is otherwise healthy so she is in for radioactive iodine treatment, took her Tuesday last week. They keep them until whatever radiation they are measuring drops to 0.5. Cost breakeven is about 2.5 years which is more than probable given her general health. The treatment apparently is pretty much always successful.

Thought I posted it here but maybe a different thread? Can't keep track of them all :D

You can see her here, silly cat is sleeping in the litter pan again.

Glad to hear she seems to be doing better! Will she have to go back to the vet periodically to be checked?

My youngest DD, not a cat!, started thyroid medicine today for too low of Thyroid function.

I hope it helps!

She has a blood test in 4 weeks
