My leukemia's back.

You all crack me up! So, I've managed to find my way to the bathroom at night on my very own, you'll all be thrilled to know

.

White cells are up enough I don't have to get those injections every day

Got platelets and two units of blood today so I'm topped off and ready to go. I know why vampires jones for that stuff--it makes such a difference!

I got the consent and more detailed info on the transplant procedure yesterday and kind of freaked out reading it. This is serious stuff they're doing, and it says multiple times if such and such happens you could die....I mean, I knew it in a theoretical sense, but having it put so baldly (and multiple times!!!) is kind of sobering. I honestly don't feel God plans for me to die of this, and if He does call me home, I'm all good, it's the idea of leaving my guys alone that bothers me. Not that I can change a single thing by worrying about it........

Spent the morning cleaning out and organizing our freezers, then starting to defrost the smaller upright. We've got almost 300lbs of pork to pick up Saturday and not so much space to put it

Perils of a chest freezer, I found half a dozen big roasts from the last pigs that I didn't know were there, so we'll be having pork feasts. I know, twist my arm, right?

Rachel...

I had to laugh at your finding so much pork in your chest freezer(s)...mine are just the same, I'm so glad I am not the only one to find a glut of something I had forgotten...mine are like going into Aladdins Cave...

I have difficulty getting to the bottom of my chest freezers...I have reached a little too far at times and ended up semi inside the freezers...much to my annoyance and the hilarious laughter of my Husband...

I had to look up the red eye gravy...not something I had ever heard of before....I may well try that...it seems to be something I cannot burn...burned food is one of my specialities..I start cooking and then my attention gets diverted...sometimes for hours...a smoking kitchen and barking dogs alert me to my failures...

There is a great description of it in the book Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe.

Great...thanks! What biscuits do I look for...? Or is this some strange description of .....? I have biscuits here...they are something called Rich Tea...or Digestive ...seems a strange combination but I am willing to try...

Suzie, quick and easy biscuits:

2 cups flour (I use 1 cup flour and 1 cup Bisquick)
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk

Table spoon sized portions dropped on a greased tray - cook at 450 F for around 15 minutes.

Hey, Rachel, we're turning your 'getting better' thread into a cooking thread.
