Wow...so, as a nurse I've seen patients, especially older folks, easily get disoriented in the hospital at night. Wake up thinking they're home and sometimes bad things happen. Well, apparently I have Institutional Syndrome or something--I woke up at home last night, thinking I was in the hospital! I couldn't figure how to get out of bed to the bathroom, I was all turned around and mixed up, and was freaking out about pulling my IV out! Poor honey finally got me really awake and straightened out. Took us both a while to go back to sleep after that.....weird. Besides that, being in my own bed with my own honey was wonderful! Spending the day with my boys--no school today---and just loving being home.

Rachel,

How awful for you! Yes, we sometimes do get institutionalised...scary!

Thankfully..you are at home and safe now...you will readjust ..it takes time....

Bless you and your family

Get some well deserved rest!

That is PTSD!

It is not the same as disorientation--You will get over it but I think you need chocolate(Doesn't chocolate always help?)
