My leukemia's back.

Hi Rachel.... Sour, Friday, and of course Blooie.....
Supposed to be headed out fishing this morning.... Awful windy though....
Hope you all have a glorious Saturday.... Rachel slow down a bit.... Smell a rose or three...I do not ever say I beat leukemia..... Scared to.... Plus as the years roll on I realize it left a mark....I was able to return to work for 15 years.... Till that mark became too much... Not trying to be a downer Rachel... Just stop and smell a rose ....catch the sunrise.... We share very similar lives and I worry you will wake up one day and find the Prednisone has played heck with your joints and you might regret working so much and not smelling enough roses..... Your friend ...... Phil

Thank you Phil. I always appreciate the voice of experience!

Rain and mud aside, things are looking nice here. Roses (just cause you mentioned them), callas, iris, honeysuckle, the chestnut tree is in full bloom and the hummingbirds are doing their little dogfights around it. Honey bought me a bunch of Wave petunias I still need to get potted.

Yeah, it was a busier week than I'd like. Things will slow down some this next week. I know some folks thrive on being on the go all the time, but I've never liked it. I have MommyGuilt cause I've only cooked dinner three times this week---but ya know, no one died of starvation

We have rain and mud here in Woodland CA too. It does beat the heat though. We were near 95 this week for a high temperature.

My plan for today is to find some herbs to plant. I only have oregano left and would like to get some thyme and sage going again. I might try a pot of mint too.

I've missed you all!

I'm the OP of the thread. Not only did I fight leukemia, word is I've kicked it's ever-lovin' butt

. That's right, don't mess with the redhead!

So the other highlights of this last week.....
In conversation I referred to my office mate as my cellmate.
I'm pretty sure I sold a coworker a dozen eggs with a ceramic egg in there.
I got to actually ride my own horse, not sure if I told you all that.
Hatched out yet more chicks. maybe that big incubator wasn't such a good idea.
You sure did!!!!!

Sounds like quite the week.......if it makes you feel better I once accidentally sent out a dozen hard boiled eggs to a customer, only realized it when I went to peel an egg later that day and was VERY surprised when I cracked it on the counter and raw egg came pouring out..... Yay for equine therapy, SO good for the soul!

. First thing out of my mouth was "Look how many clothes those girls are wearing!" Not the contestants, the prize girls. They had on long pants, elbow length sleeves and just a touch of cleavage was showing. That's how I knew it was that old!

Rachel, have a great day at the auction, and

on your progress towards normality. Well, perhaps, towards your own sort of normality.

Rainy and cool here again today too -- was just checking the weather for where I'll be next week and it's supposed to be clear, sunny and high 80's......thinking I might melt!

Well, I can't take my Honey anywhere

He went to the auction with me. Not only did he spend $80 on farm-type items, he bought a piglet. Yep, cause we don't have 4 reserved to pick up on Friday, we sure needed another one!

There was a little gamey-looking bantam hen with 12 day old chicks. I was tempted to bid on her, but she went for almost $30. I don't need another broody that much.

The big excitement was when a buyer was trying to get their peahen out of the sale cage into their kennel and it got away. Flew up into the rafters, and there she sat for the rest of the auction. Apparently the kiddos had fun chucking cans at her to spook her down.

Oregano took over my yard... Not it smells like a pizza place when I cut my grass....:)

I left the door to the duckling cage open today.... Yeah they got out and we're running wild in the spare bedroom....:lau
JEEPERS, RACHEL! All I did today was dodge a rock slide in a canyon and face down a flooded river! You get all the fun!!

You didn't get hurt did you?

Nope, we're both fine. Huge rock came tumbling down the wall of the canyon, hit the pavement at top speed, and was bouncing right towards us. A little braking and maneuvering and Ken managed to avoid it. It tumbled down through the rails in the guardrail fence and hit the Big Horn RIver wiith a resounding :splash. The river near Lander wasn't quite to the road yet, so we took deep breaths and gunned our way passed that part.
