. It's the full moon and folks are a bit nuts. Just had an interaction that is making me question my activity here on BYC. If not for some of the folks that I care about, I would be leaving.
If I had a nickel for every time I've felt that way I could pay for next year's cruise!! Hang in there - you know how much we all love you!

@sourland I've had some pretty hateful things said to me on this website too. That's why they have that "unsubscribe" button under "manage my subscriptions".

Hope everyone has a great day!

And the "Block Member" function. that's been a lifesaver for me here! I used to feel bad about using it, then I realized it's the blessed internet, and I don't need to interact with everyone who hops on my little corner. Some folks just aren't worth my time and energy.

I agree. I have blocked a number of trolls. Some not even certified trolls. Just that their communication style is too abrasive for me. Those... my way or the highway type of people.

I spend a lot of time on 'unanswered threads' trying to help where I think that I can. I have problem disregarding misinformation (some of which may be detrimental) . I made a career in the animal care field - there is a fine line between ignorance and abuse.

Must try out the unsubscribe feature. I find that I have 62 subscriptions. How does one subscribe, anyways? Do you become a subscriber simply by reading it? by responding?

I am subscribed to any thread that I give a response. I'm not sure if this is automatic or something that I have set up.

I think it's automatic unless you disable it.

LG: To unsubscribe (on a desktop) just go to your home page and hover your cursor over a thread you want to unsubscribe. A little red x will pop up at the end. Click that x, and you'll get a pop-up asking if you if you are sure you want to unsubscribe, then click OK.

Every so often I pare down my subscriptions to keep them manageable.
