My leukemia's back.

It says I have 3421. I've been clicking the red X, but that will take forever. I don't understand why it says I have that many (basically, any thread I've EVER made a comment on, but I have 43 subscriptions starred up at the top by my name. It was 42, until I just started typing in this window, now 43????

I don't think they actually disappear from your page, but once you unsubscribe you won't get any more updates from that thread. The number by your name is the number of subscribed threads that have new posts.

What I do, and it took a while, is read one of the threads with new posts, (with the red number) then unsubscribe from it. Eventually, the threads you like will be the ones left at the top of your home page and all the others stay lower and dormant.

Just do a few every time you log on and it's not so bad.

Edited to add:

Found how to get rid of them for good. click on the word *subscriptions by your name, then go to the "edit my subscriptions" tab. Click remove on the threads you don't want anymore. With 3400, it's still going to take a while. I just got rid of 20 or so, and I'll probably do more whenever I feel like it.

Well my grandsons just dropped off Jeter the black lab. They fly off to Ca. tomorrow where the older guy is going to college. I really like that kid, and am going to miss him big time. I love all of my grandchildren, but this kid has been an especially good person from the time he was an infant.

What college is he going to?

Ron, he's going to Chapman University - he says he's majoring in business. I'm thinking it may be surfing.

That is about 600 miles from where I live.

My Youngest brother lives down there in Walnut California.

Disneyland it close too.

Some folks just touch you more, don't they? Blood family or not, there are just special connections we make. Sorry he's going so far away, but thankful for all the technology we have now to be able to keep in touch in these cases.

I'm off to the county fair today. Going this am while it's cooler to see the exhibits, then to work for a bit, then back to the fair for the Tough Truck competition. I don't know what it is, but I love those trucks!

Hope everyone has a good day, stay cool and dry

I think about me "having favorites" sometimes. Then I stop and think, "Well, it's only natural.....we all have people we absolutely adore, some we tolerate, and others fall somewhere in between somehow." Now, I'm not saying that your grandson is your favorite...you never said or implied that. But you do have a different connection with him, and that's great!!

In our family Jamie is my favorite. He was my first grandchild, the only one of triplets to survive. And I raised him for much of his life. But Austin is my favorite - a more loving, giving kid never graced the planet. Now all I have of him are memories, and I cherish every single one of them because I know I'll never get the chance to make more. Little Diane is no doubt my favorite - she was named after me and she is an amazing combination of spunk, spirit and compassion. We raised her much of her life too. Of course, Evan is my favorite. He was such an unexpected gift. We thought we had all of the grandkids the Good Lord was going to bless us with, yet surprise!! Sixteen years after Tammy and Dan gave us Austin they gave us Evan too. Then lo and behold, just a few months later along came my favorite - Katiebug. After 11 years of Kenny and Jenny trying, suddenly here she was! (As Kenny used to say with a big sigh, "Work, work, work!") She's bright, she's funny, she's loving and she makes a day happier just because she's in it! Finally, can there be any doubt that Kendra is my favorite? With her determination, her courage and her gentle nature, she's been the perfect teacher for all of us. She's so doggone cute, too!

So I guess I do have a favorite. And as long as they all know they are my favorites, it's all good!

He's the kind of kid I would like to know even if there were no blood connection.  I won't hold his ancestry against him.

Dry....not here. Been pouring rain for weeks. Thankful the earth hs managed to soak it up and we are not dealing with the stuff Loisiana has.

Yesterday we went to a festival. It rained on us, but was still fun. They had a cardboard box boat race. Some people go all out making these elaborate boats out of cardboard boxes. A few sunk right at the start line. Some had 6+ people on board. It was awesome. I'll see if I can post a pic later. I got a couple pics with my cheap cell, so the camera is not good.

Hoping the rain holds off today, because after church, we need to cut firewood. Temps are finally not in the 80s. :D Have a great day!
