My leukemia's back.

Holy Moly! That's one big baby boy!

Everyone survived Thanksgiving? No choking incidents, etc?

I've been feeling off for the last two days. Not sure what's going on, just tired and feel like my muscles are rubber noodles. Gotta get back on track today, I've got stalls to clean and probably a manure pile to dump. yee haw.

My barn cat is sick, not sure what's going on with him. He's not moving, will stagger maybe a few steps then just hunkers down again. Not eating or drinking. Started Thursday evening. Of course I had guilt that maybe he got into the rat poison, but that's been long enough I can't see the timeline working out. Anyway, took him to the vet yesterday and spent the morning there. They got no clue. Labs are fine. Exam unrevealing. Brought him home with instructions to syringe feed him. Honestly, I'm thinking of having Honey put him down this morning. He literally is not moving. He hasn't peed that I know of for over 24 hours. They gave him fluids yesterday at the vet and I've got a little water in him, but nothing has come out. His temp was low when I took him in yesterday (97), so we kept him by the fire last night and I think overheated him, he was panting this morning. But he didn't move himself away from the heat. I just don't know, but I don't like seeing him miserable. He's only 4-5 years old, and he's my barn shadow. The only cat who has ever told me his name. It's going to stink to lose him, but I"m a a loss for what else to do.

There comes a time when we have to make that choice for our animals. It's part of our responsibility.

So sorry Rachel. You will come to the right decision. I lost my cat this summer. He was very special, but I knew that the vet bills and the long term outcome related to his issues meant that putting him down was best for all concerned.

Sorry Rachel..... I have a old cat that is still kicking but she's been acting strange for a while. About 5 years ago had her thyroids removed now she's always hungry and doesn't gain any weight. But she's otherwise healthy.
I hope your cat gets better he's still so young.

Thanks all. I appreciate the support.

I took him outside today and he was more mobile than he's been the last two days. Still didn't see him eliminate either way...and he's not wanting to eat or drink. He curled up in the hay while Honey and I were working, and I just brought him back in by the fire. He doesn't seem to be hurting at all, that's pretty much the reason he's still here. We'll see how things are tomorrow.

Sorry Rachel.. But if he doesn't seem to be in pain I'd wait it out.
My old cat got sick like that years ago.
I was ready to put her down too.
But she slowly started to get better and now she's fine. I'm no expert but animals get sick just like people. And when I'm sick i don't want to move either.
Praying for you...... Phil

Heading for home after a fabulous Thanksgiving. My sister continues to improve and Ashley, well...Ashley looks and feels fantastic!!!

Wish she'd have turned around, but that's Ashley in front, my sister Linda at center, and Ashley's sister Addi with the dark hair at the back of the tree.
